Jewish sacred texts declare that destroying even one life is akin to destroying a whole world. But here in Montgomery County, lives are destroyed every day, especially Black and brown lives, by our systems of policing and school discipline. Join us for our next team meeting to discuss ongoing campaigns to transform public safety in our County.
Each spring, the Social Justice Seder celebrates the freedom story of the Exodus by connecting it to present day struggles, delivering the tools to take action, and celebrating with food, friends, and song. This year’s Seder, “Let my people grow,” will explore the fight for youth justice and the campaign to let all of Maryland’s children, and their children, and their children’s children break the chains of the criminal legal system and live in freedom.
Each spring, the Labor Seder celebrates the freedom story of the Exodus by connecting it to present day struggles, delivering the tools to take action, and celebrating with food, friends, and song. This year’s Seder, "Let all who are hungry come and eat," will examine how the fight for liberation is reflected in DC street vendors' campaign to be recognized as part of our city's vibrant and diverse community.

How is the Montgomery County Board of Education structured? Who are the candidates running for the primary election this year? How are Board of Education races different from the other races on the 2024 primary ballot? And why do Board of Education races matter, especially for the issue areas JUFJ focuses on, such as restorative justice?
Find out answers to all of these questions at JUFJ's virtual What's at Stake in the 2024 Board of Education Primary Elections program on Sunday, April 28 at 3:00 PM, where we'll give you the tools you need to vote your values in this critical primary election.

That is neither just nor merciful. Join JUFJ's youth justice working group as we discuss the campaign to pass the Youth Equity and Safety (YES) Act.
