Join DC JUFJ’s Tax and Budget Working Group on Wednesday, May 5 from 6:15-7:45 PM to learn more about how we can leverage our collective power to create a more equitable budget and make sure everyone is paying their fair share.

Join a virtual watch party of the County Council's upcoming budget worksession! During the worksession, the County's Government Operations and Fiscal Policy Committee (GO) will discuss the proposed FY22 budget's funding of several of our priority issues including housing and policing.

Join the MC Defund Policing & Invest In Communities Coalition for a watch party of a presentation by the Board of Education's SRO Working Group. The working group will present its final report on the impact of School Resource Officers (SROs) on Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). JUFJ and our coalition partners are concerned that their report is very heavily biased in favor of maintaining the status quo, and fails to use reliable research in justifying its outcomes.Â
The watch party will begin at 3:30, and we'll start with a short relational activity and review background information on the bill. The working group's presentation will begin at 3:50, at which time we'll use screen share to display information.
With the 2021 legislative session of the Maryland General Assembly behind us, Jews United For Justice and the Baltimore Jewish Council are teaming up, and together we will take a look back at some of the most critical justice related issues to be taken up by the legislature this year.
Join District 17 legislators for their post-session meeting!
Join JUFJ in Montgomery County for a watch party of a full Council budget worksession! The Council will review funding for alternatives to School Resource Officers (SROs), funding for nonprofits, funding for rent assistance, and funding for homeless services — this is one of the most important full council budget worksessions this session!
While we anticipate favorable outcomes for funding for nonprofits, rent assistance, and homelessness services, JUFJ and our partners in the MC Defund/Invest Coalition are asking for additional funding for culturally competent, licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), which is not yet guaranteed in the budget.Â
Our watch party will begin at 9:30 AM. We will begin with a short relational activity, and then review background information on the budget. The worksession will begin at 9:45 AM.Â
Join Baltimore City Senate Delegation (Districts 40, 41, 43, 44, 45, 46) for their post-session meeting!
Join JUFJers from across Baltimore to discuss our ongoing issue campaign work. We will share updates for all the local campaigns and brainstorm on how to move the work forward, especially on budget advocacy.

Join the Montgomery County Budget Team for our next campaign meeting! No previous budget experience required.
Join JUFJ as we show up and ask Mayor Bowser to put people first when she decides how to spend $3 billion of federal aid money. We will provide training from 5:00-5:30 to prepare for the roundtable starting at 5:30.
The Campaign for Justice, Safety and Jobs' Quarterly Town Hall is an invitation for community members to learn more about our work to divest from and hold BPD accountable, support our immigrant and undocumented community members, and build a world where all Baltimoreans are treated with dignity.
