Shavuot is a Jewish holiday celebrating the Torah and the beginning of the harvest, and it reminds us to reaffirm our communal values. It is often observed by eating dairy foods, studying all night, and reading the Book of Ruth. This year, Baltimore City Council's Taxpayer Night begins just before Shavuot. Join us as we and our partners celebrate Shavuot and testify to the City Council to remind them that, as the Book of Ruth points out, the bounty of the harvest should be used to meet everyone’s basic needs.

JUFJ and our partners in the HOME Act Coalition have been organizing for years to secure permanent, meaningful renter protections — and soon, Montgomery County leadership will debate two very different rent stabilization bills throughout the end of June.

Join JUFJ members for a virtual text bank to recruit members to attend these important worksessions! No prior experience necessary. We will provide you with a short training at the top of the call, and texting can be done from your phone or computer.

Allies in Action: Combating Antisemitism and Racism

This virtual learning session convened by the Avodah Institute for Social Change in partnership with the Black Jewish Liberation Collective will focus on how to shift away from isolation and towards community building, and share how addressing antisemitism is a key part of the movement for racial justice.
